A Vegan

To kick start my blog, my first ‘week in the life of’ challenge shall involve me experiencing the vegan diet.
As of tomorrow I will be munching only on food which is meat AND dairy free. The non-meat aspect of the diet I think I can just about handle, but no chocolate, for a whole seven days? Ouch.

My biggest fear is that I will simply forget that I am now a vegan and that whenever I see friends with a bag of Pork Scratchings or Maltesers, my ‘scavenger’ instinct will over rule my vegan instinct and my hand will be in the bag faster than you can say soya milk!

As I was taught throughout school, when it comes to making something stick in your head, it’s better to write it down than simply read it. So, I’ve written a list of food stuffs that are most likely gonna cause me to accidentally slip up…

Yoghurt
Milk
Chocolate
Cheese
Mayonnaise


The list seems shorter than I anticipated. Maybe this week’s challenge will be easier than I expected.

  2. Hi Lou, no Maltesers for me next weekend though! Cry! At least through me doing this challenge, I can sympathise more whole heartedly with Alex. She's a celiac, so has to avoide all sorts of yummy things too! Emily did not cater for vegans at all at yesterday's match teas- I'm putting a complaint in! :-P
